Why choose to become a Student Ambassador?
I believe taking on this position will be a great way to meet other students and staff in the
NRES department. I am excited to be able to build a better network of like-minded people
to help me in my future academic and professional career. I have already had such a great
experience in the NRES department, and I look forward to being able to help others
achieve the same experience. I can't wait to learn more about this department and all the
opportunities it has for myself and other students and help share this information with
others.

Why Illinois? – What factors helped contribute to your decision to attend the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign?
Illinois is perfectly as close to home as I would want it to be while still giving me the experience of living on my own independently in the perfect college town. It offered me a great education with many opportunities I knew I wouldn’t find anywhere else. The community is rich in history and pride, and stepping out on campus makes you feel at home. It’s everything I could have asked for.

Why NRES? – Specifically, why did you choose to study Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences?
My entire life I have always been fascinated by the world around me, and the benefits the earth has to offer us. My interests in ecology and conservation have led me to pursue it as an education. I chose NRES because it offers many different tracks and career paths within the field of study that both guide me and allow me to choose exactly what I want to do with my time and education. Since joining the program, I couldn’t be happier with this decision.
